Artech Opens in Portland

 

After nearly a year of planning, construction and teambuilding, Artech opened its first satellite branch in Portland on June 1, 2020. Our state of the art facility has 7500 square feet of museum-grade climate-controlled storage, 6500 square feet of ambient storage, and a beautiful 600 square foot viewing room with 16’ high ceilings. Conveniently located on NE Columbia Boulevard, our space offers very close proximity to downtown Portland, the West Hills and Lake Oswego.

Artech’s new branch is offering a comprehensive range of art handling and collection services including:

  • Transportation

  • Collection Management

  • Crating & Packing

  • Installation

  • Storage

  • Custom Framing

The four members of our Portland team have a collective 45 years of experience in fine art logistics.

Nick Vaughan, Branch Manager

Nick has worked in the fine art logistics industry for eleven years, first as an art handler and shuttle driver for Displays FAS in Texas and then as Artech’s Transportation Manager. In 2018, he became a licensed customs broker and navigated Artech through the process of attaining its corporate license.

In January of 2020, Nick relocated to Oregon to become the Branch Manager of our newly formed Portland operation. He prides himself on delivering great customer service and has a genuine can-do attitude in regards to all requests, no matter how big or small the challenge may be.

Will Dorn, Senior Technician

Will began his career in art logistics at ArtWorks in San Diego, CA where he gained a wealth of technical experience in the following disciplines: crating/packing, rigging and complex installation. Will was hired by Artech in 2017 to manage our packing and crating operations.

In May of 2020, Will relocated to Oregon and assumed the role of Senior Technician at our Portland branch. Outside of Artech, Will is an avid disc golfer.

Kelsey Ryan, Art Handler

A relative newcomer to our field, Kelsey brings with her a unique set of skills and an attention to detail unmatched by many of her peers.

Prior to joining the Artech team in June of 2020, Kelsey had the opportunity to work with several artists at her university’s art gallery and various museums. During this time, she decided to pursue a career in art logistics. When Kelsey isn’t at work, she enjoys spending time at her ceramic studio.

Harry Warwick, Art Handler

Harry is a seasoned industry veteran: he spent the better part of the last two decades working for Gander & White in their New York and San Francisco offices. In his time at Gander & White, Harry also had the opportunity to work on special projects at their London and Paris branches.

Since he relocated to Portland in May of 2020, Harry has spent a lot of time cycling around the city and enjoying his new surroundings.
